hi,
I have a Panasonic viera c-series model lcd with a screen which does not turn on. The led light in the front just keeps on blinking. I called up a person from nearby authorized service center. After checking he told me that he need to test the main board and if the board has any problem then I have to replace it. He told me that you cannot repair the main board. So was the guy telling the truth? I have hard time believing him. Please help

That would probably depend on what the problem is, people have circuit boards repaired all the time, it would depend on the problem, might be something fried and just not cost effective to fix, or could be a trace needs to be re-soldered

anything can be repaired with the right tools and knowhow. It is not always easy unless you have something obvious like a blown capacitor which is quite common, or bad solder joints. trying to diagnose individual parts is possible but the amount of hours labor would possibly cost more than just wacking a new board in.

it can be repaired. first check its supply regulator ic's these may be damaged. these can be replaced easily if you practice work on smd components.
