What do you mean by seems adequate to you? Also how much of an upgrade would it be? Would the bass shake my house? Thanks

Z906 is not bad but it's better playing movies than music.

Example bellow is a better option for overall sound quality and close to price point of Z906.

You'll need and amp and combination of speakers.

OK well let's set the max at $600 for everything. I would like 5.1 but I may be able to do 2.1 I would like a lot of bass(I mean a lot) and I would not mind bookshelf but floor standing is better. I was going to get the z906 because of its price and thx certification also its 5.1!
