Is the i7-4710HQ better than the i5-6300HQ?

How is the i7-4710HQ better than the i5-6300HQ or vice versa and what applications are suitable for each processor?
Are there any noticeable differences in gaming or design?
And is there an obvious advantage over one another?

For gaming they are expected to perform alike. However the i7 has hyperthreading so video editing and all that stuff benefit from HT and perform better on the i7

So if you want to play games get the cheaper one the 6300HQ is clocked a bit slower but has newer arquitecture. In case you want it for content creation as well It is worth it to get the i7 for the extra price
