Is the macbook pro retina 15 $2400 Worth it?

For game development (with windows parallel) and for mac games development is it worth it?

I had this debate the other day with a friend of mine. just get last years model if available from mac mall there is a very minor difference in performance vs the previous generation. 2 to 4 percent only reason to buy an apple laptop would be for operating system differences and software. which is mute considering you can upgrade to maverick os for free now.
