Is there a diff between the green and pink cable???

Hey, I'm trying to connect a pair of turtle beaches to my pc and I can get the mic to work, my question is is there a diff cord that is used just for the mic. I brought a reg. cord and adapter ... help please.

that the adapter I have, exept mine doesn't have that button, but has the three rings if that matter

and thats the exact cord i have

The pink connector is used for the mic, green for the speakers.

what if i brought a random cord?? I brought that one only in green cause it matched, but they had all the colors .... do i NEED a pink one

A PC has separate microphone and sound outputs.

I'm looking at your "adapter" but not sure how it's supposed to work since you'd need two connectors on the end, one for the Green sound output from the PC, and another for the Microphone.

*Please give your model for the headphones, but I'm pretty sure to connect you use the adapter that came with the headphones and can't use some random one you bought elsewhere.

I have the xp400, the audio is working fine, it's just the mic, I think I'll just buy the damned pink cord or the two way one like you mentioned, They're supposed to be wireless but they said you can use wired chat if you don't have Bluetooth, the headset was made for consoles so I need the little adapter thing ....

So, it appears to work like THIS:

1) Any 3.5mm Male-to-Male cable

2) 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter (not the other way)

3) Plug the 3.5mm into the MICROPHONE connection (pink) on the PC, and the 2.5mm end into the headphones to the XBOX 360 controller jack.
