So, I have this laptop HP Pavilion G6 it is not working for almost a year.
It turns on and everything is working. But, it shows a black screen (even with an external monitor)
Anyways, it's actually a famous issue called "Black Screen of Death".

Is there a solution for it?

That narrows the possibilities. The fact that the external display is also blank suggests it's not a dead screen, though are you sure there's no F-key you need to press to activate the external monitor? There could be a problem with the internal display cable, but if it's true that both internal and external screen are blank that suggests a problem with the graphics chip on the board.

If it only shows a black screen it wouldn't seem to be working. Is the screen totally blank, or is there an image that's not lit? What have you done to try to remedy this? If you haven't already, pull out the battery, then remove and re-install the memory sticks. If the little round button battery (CMOS battery) is readily available, you can also pop that out for a minute or two.

Do you see any other indications? Is a Caps lock light blinking? If you press on the keyboard after starting does it beep? If you start it with no memory installed does it beep? Is the HDD activity LED blinking?

The laptop works, hdd working, caps lock works, even the sounds work. Only the monitor is black without anything on it no cursor, no nothing.

I tried re-installing the CMOS battery, pulling out the battery, removing/changing ram. And none of them worked.

the laptop used to actually work after an hour of turning it off and on, but now it only shows the blackscreen.

The cable and the monitor is fine. You're probably right This might be issue from the graphics chip.
Anyways, thanks for helping.
