I have a USB 2.0 external HDD and it won't work in USB 3.0. I have all the drivers, and the HDD works just fine when plugged in to USB 2.0. So that lie about being backwards compatible is a lie. Don't bother saying it isn't a lie because I have physical proof that it is a lie. Only helpful answers please.
Ipro IP-HDE1-1T 3.5 inch ext HDD. My laptop is a HP ENVY 17-ae013ca. All three USB drives have worked with everything I've attached except my HDD. Though only the HDD uses USB 2.0. My laptop does recognize that something is attached, but it says USB 2.0 is not compatible.
