Is this a good system for me?

Essential G510 Laptop 59402530 $549.00 after $350.00 ecoupon. It has all the components I'm interested in. Seems like a good cpu, 4th Generation Intel Core i5-4200M Processor, 8 gb ram, 1TB hard drive,and DVD burner.
I do NOT play games. I'm ok with a 5-600 dollar laptop. I'd like to stay with a Lenovo machine. My question is should I consider a S Series Ideapad instead. Just looking for a good home office machine.

I had a look around the Lenovo website and that is probably the best value for money laptop from Lenovo but there may be better deals out there from other manufactures. Any particular reason you want to stick with Lenovo?

According to me Lenovo is very good laptop after Asus, he has selected the right one and with that coupon its the best deal he can get for this one

Well i can't actually look at prices since im not in the US but i can recommend checking out the Sony Vaio range as they come with nice built in features and are very well built. The Dell Inspiron range is good if you want to save a few dollars, cheap reliable and a lot of them around so getting support for any issues if fairly easy. If not just go for the Lenovo, its a good laptop, nice specs and should last a few years. Good luck with your choice.

I heard G series monitor had weak contrast and brightness.Is that true? Can't find a brick and mortar laptop to observe. I did, however, see a S series Ideapad at local retailer. The monitor looked good enough for me. Question: judging from the specs of this two series ( G vs S), is monitor display on the G series at least as good as the S series?? Anyone have a G series laptop? Thanks

Since you aren't using your laptop for anything more than just general usage, internet browsing and working etc, i wouldn't worry too much about how good the screen is. The G510 will have a good enough screen that you wont notice it, especially after you have had it for a while. If it were for multimedia purposes then i would recommend looking elsewhere.
