Which laptop brand and model is it? Please post the complete model number which should be written on the bottom side of the laptop.

The flash besides the USB-C port should indicate that the port is Thunderbolt compatible. Depending on which GPU dock you wanna get, this should work.

I believe that USB type C. They have docking stations for some of their high-performance systems with thunderbolt connectors

USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (upt o 5 Gbit/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)
Most likely it´s not a thunderbolt flash but a charge flash, so while the laptop is in sleep mode, the USB power on this port is on
