I am currently looking at this Lenovo y510p from Amazon. I am planning on making the purchase in 2-3 weeks. I was looking for a gaming laptop for under $1000 (graduation gift).
That being said, this will NOT be my primary gaming rig. I have a gaming desktop that I will be primarily using. This laptop is only going to be used when I go to a friend's house for a LAN or when I travel. For the most part, I will play LoL on it, but for LANs we do play some more intense games (BF4, Dying Light when it comes out, etc...).
My concern with this laptop is the SLI configuration. I'm not familiar with SLI/Crossfire, nor with gaming laptops. I have read reviews about issues with microstuttering, overheating, and throttling (not sure what that is). My question is, will I have any of these issues? When I do game during a LAN, it is a heavy session (we finished a 4 player coop of Borderlands 2 in one sitting including most of the side quests).
Thank you for the help!
