Using Windows 7 32 bit i cannot get the error 43 message to go away with my H.K. Soundsticks. I know they are for mac but they are plug and play and they have worked on this exact system a week ago. Until i moved my computer and had to unplug everything. This is my audio system for the moment and i am going crazy. Thanks for the time and interest.ML

That is a driver error. The OS selects the wrong driver or has "updated" and there is an error in the update. The USB connection loses connectivity.
Apparently there is an adapter that allows plugging them directly into the headphone jack and skipping the USB connection. Even apple owners are having this problem. They switch to the headphone jack.
But if you must
From the computer manufacturers website, try to get the audio system drivers, uninstall the old drivers before loading the original ones.
if you must, With the original Motherboard driver CD, try re-installing the motherboard drivers. With the original OS CD, try doing a repair install of the OS, without reformatting.
I am sorry, but with operating system that decides which drivers you "should" have, this can get you into problems.
Don't go crazy. I think I would follow the Macheads lead, and plug the adapter into the headphone jack.

Thank you --I actually asked someone yesterday if they actually make an adapter for the intance you are speaking - maybe there is still a chance for me yet to be a techee after all, i was on the right track. Again, thank you for that valuable information. ML
