itunes home sharing

i turned on home sharing on itunes and the only albums showing/playing on my iphone were purchased/downloaded. None of my other hundreds of songs in itunes library show on my iphone.. must be something simple. thanks

If they are stored locally on the computer, they will not come over to the iPhone unless you tell the system to sync them.

thanks - they are stored on my pc so how do I tell my system to sync the songs to iphone?

Add the folder containing those music files to the iTunes Library.
