ive tried all suggestions to pull my toshiba sattelite from standby and none seem to have effect at all

my toshiba satellite older style is stuck in standby and ive tried all suggestions in previous threads with only result in a light ib front flashing quckly in front of laptop what should i do next

Pull the pwoer cable and let the battery run down. Reinnstate the power but not the battery and see if it starts up cleanly.
