Japanese external cd/dvd rom?

Hi! I'm planning to buy an external cd/dvd-rom here in japan for my sony vaio W series that i bought in the states. i am just wondering if it would work or not.. or if you guys have idea of the brand i can buy.
i just need it to install office 2007.
