Why not drop the camera on the Naon too and drop the price point?!... or drop the camera, double the storage, and keep the price point?! Noone wants a camera on a Nano.
I think it's of pretty minimal impact. The vast majority of cell phones have a camera, and people instinctively reach for their phones when they need to snap an opportunistic pic or shoot a quick bit of video. I'd be willing to bet that a camera on a non-cell phone media device would go unused by the vast majority of owners.
well if apple is gonna try and make it a game device then they are going to face compitition from sony, nintendo, and heck maybe even the new pmp's with nvidia's tegra chip so apple to me has a steep uphill battle to gain traction as a gaming device.
I'm glad they didn't put a camera on it. I'm thinking about getting a new Touch for all the cheap games it has on it, and hey, it's exciting having a handheld computer. But I already have a digital camera as well as a camera on my cell phone, so paying an extra $30 or more for a low megapixel camera like that would be a serious waste/deterrant from me buying the Touch.

it took HOW many generations to add a FREAKIN' FM radio on a iPod???
as if they actually "listen" to customers...
it's all about making iPod brand last by adding the most minimal features in each upgrade...
camera on music player is waste to begin with...most people won't think of nano as being a quick camcorder when cell phones and flip dominiates that market....
Forget both, add all the features into the iPhone and make it available to all cellular carriers not just AT&T, make it affordable and it will have everything I want all in one drvice. I think the Touch is a waste of time and the Nano is cute, but limited, though the FM radio is a big plus, the camera, so what.
playing games on Ipod touch? sorry but I play games on my PSP not my Ipod touch
the way that the touch screen DPad controler take too much space on your screen so if you have big fingers you loose screen space. and the games are better on PSP or Nintendo DS.
So does that mean that the iTouch has a faster CPU than the iPhone now? What if people with iPhones want to play games? I certainly did think of it as an iPhone without the phone before.
"We don't need to add new stuff - we need to get the price down where everyone can afford it." That way when we finally give you what you want you're more likely to have already bought one, and will then buy another so we make more money.
Jokes aside, why couldn't they have just dropped the price on the old versions and given us a camera on the new ones (which come out at the same price point the old ones were at). Then you can spend the money for a camera if you want, or save a few bucks and opt out. Then everyone's happy.
