The actual skit was funny when we watched it earlier this week. If Verizon getting the iPhone increases competition, then the end results should be good for cusumers.

That is my theory and I am sticking to it.

I guess the part in which iPhone has great apps and UI doesn't play a part? lol As a cell phone it does leave a little to be desired but as a complete product few smart phones can touch it. Also the smart phone industry would not be what it is now without the iPhone!

Verizon iphone won't even be on the 4G LTE network and no upgrade path for 20 MONTHS! compared to AT&T 12!!!!. They are both terrible and overpriced. I'm paying $85 a month for sh*t service from AT&T that I'm stuck in for another 12 months........yay 🙁. Such a great phone and no Carrier to utilize it. No plans on switching to Verizon wont be any different than AT&T

Wouldn't it mathematically make more sense to just pay the early termination fee, get a lower priced plan and phone, and be on your way?

Loved the video, even though I'm not a fan of the ol' iPhone. I love all the talk shows you guys have over there - find them really interesting.

I'm still not sure how mobile services work in the states.. I mean, it's assumed knowledge here - and fair enough.

It seems it's not like it is over here - where you can just buy a phone outright from a store (or online) and then go to whatever provider you want and tell them to give you a SIM card and put you on their network.

[citation][nom]KawiNinjaZX[/nom]Liberals LOVE Apple products, shows how dumb they really are. Android FTW[/citation]

I'm a liberal and I hate crapple and the iPhone. Only morons "LOVE" apple products. Funny, cause I only know conservatives that own the iPhone.

I like the simplicity of my iphone 3gs. No doubt that Android is the place to be when you want to sit around your house all day modding your phone, but when i get that itch, my Windows PC goes under the knife :)

[citation][nom]joebob2000[/nom]If it only were about "should" instead of "would"... The Verizon iPhone will be CDMA and Verizon 3g ONLY. Can you travel the world with it? Of course. Very few places don't have some level of CDMA coverage (60 countries have it, like 99% of the world's connected population.) Why burden so many iPhone buyers with a feature (a gsm radio and sim card) that less than 1% will ever take advantage of?[/citation]

Just so you know. over 200 countries have GSM coverage comparing to CDMA's 100+. You might wanna check your facts.

I worked for a major global telco provider during the early 00s mobile revolution. We were frustrated but not surprised US did go for GSM. God forbid they follow the rest of the world's standard. I had to travel to US what a pain and not a surprise to find the US 5+ years behind Europe in cost and take up.

John Stewart is a highly intelligent person and deserves no credibility shunning. Apple makes great "for the Joe Schmoe" products, but is greedy and oppressive. Having AT&T, I'm just happy to say GOOD BYE iPhaggots. You won't be missed. Thanks for taking the burden Verizon. You thought your network was superior - watch what happens. AT&T will come out with their LTE 4G and then you'll be eating your hats.
