I've had an 80-hour Series 2 Tivo, but I decided to go DiecTivo.
It is so sweet! Record 2 shows at once, the picture quality is MUCH
better. The unit only cost me $50 from DirecTV (just ask real nice),
and the service is $4/month.
Plus, we don't have a local dial-in number for our standalone Tivo.
But the DirecTivo gets its guide data over the satellite, and only
needs to make a short call about once a week.
And the fact that it has Dolby Digital 5.1 is a bonus I didn't even
know about.
All in all, I'm obviously pretty excited about the thing.
Now to go eBay my Series 2, which has a lifetime subcription attached
to it.
