Jvc tv does not recognize usb stick to watch movie

Did movie playback from USB stick use to work on this TV, or has it never worked on this TV?

The USB drive has to be formatted to be compatible with the TV.
The video file has to be compatible with the TV.
The maximum size of USB drive the TV will work with may be smaller than yours,
Check the owners manual where all this info should be.
