k key doesnt work on my laptop

when i turn my laptop on and the password thing comes on the k key keeps on repeating itself then i press enter to retype my password the k key doesnt work.need help!

Have you spilled anything on it? Usually this is a sign of either spill damage, or just a faulty keyboard/keyboard controller. If it's just the keyboard, you can replace that fairly easily, but if it's the controller on the board, that's much more costly and much more involved.
