Keyboard does not respond correctly UNTIL UAC (Universal Account Control) is accessed.
Pad Works, Right click works, Left click brings up program or shortcut's properties.

Have to start with a user that has no password.
Once in a user, Any program that starts UAC, Wait for the UAC splash screen...click cancel...KEYBOARD NOW WORKS

IWhen starting in safe mode command prompt. The ENTER key is non-functioning.

Anytime computer goes into sleep or hibernate, I have to go through the same hoops.

Any Suggestions and hints ARE GREATLY appreciated

Hi tjk59

Sometimes this type of issue occurs due to any corrupt file or malware that has infected your system. One of the easiest and straightforward ways to resolve this problem is using system restore.

Here you can find the step-by-step instructions on how to restore Windows Vista to an earlier restore point.

Note: Make sure you pick the restore point from the date when Windows was working fine.

Hope this helps.
