The much awaited Q9650 quad core (3.0 Ghz/12 MB cache/1333 fsb/45 nm) is available NOW. The Killer Notebooks Odachi 大太刀... scores the crucial first strike! This system will be featured in the Fastest Notebooks in the World shootout against DELL, Alienware, Falcon and VooDoo.

The O.S. level quad core optimization that is exclusive to Killer Notebooks (until they figure out how to copy it) should afford this 3.0 Ghz quad core the ability to compete with the 3.33 desktop & 3.5 Ghz Extreme Mobile's over clocked dual cores head to head in gaming and 3DMarks yet decimate them with the additional 6 Ghz core firepower in extreme multi-threaded and processor intensive tasks.

They thought it was safe to ride on my brain, because they assumed that the goal of my journey was wealth. All their calculations rested on the premise that I wanted to make money.

It's actually about the same amount of heat as a Q6600 as the manufacturing processed changed, not just to 45 nm, but the main component used for the last 45 years was replaced.

Another interesting thing with the Q95xx processors with the 12 MB of cache is that the Windows Performance Index memory score goes from 6.4 to 6.9 with no other change than going from a Q6700 to a Q9650.

6.4? 6.9? Wait - did they update the performance index when I wasn't looking? I thought 5.9 was the peak.

OK. I actually really wish they would update it - it isn't that hard to max out the scale right now.

(Admittedly, that's a desktop, but even notebooks are able to max out the graphics pretty easily - my overclocked Geforce Go 7950GTX pulls 5.9s on both graphics subscores)

I didn't mean to imply that maxing out the VPE was a feat by any means. It was meant to demonstrate the difference in processor families and effect the extra cache memory has on the off-chip memory controller and thereby the memory subsystem.

I don't think it is any more of a benchmark than running Vista myself. So if you get 5.9 that means taht you can actually run Vista without problems.

Of course I am exaggerating to imply that Vista is a total hog...

"O.S. level quad core optimization that is exclusive to Killer Notebooks "

Uh am I the only one that raised an eyebrow when reading this line? Did you get Microsoft to write special code in either "OS" Vista or XP for this? Can you prove this?

Sorry I didn't answer earlier, I was too busy winning the fastest notebook shootout.

The OS is written for multiple cores or processors is it not? If you know what you are doing you can optimize the system for the programs & processes you use.

My laptop windows WEI Memory Score is 5.9
The point was the difference between the Q6700 and the Q9550 in how the system utilizes memory. You're getting 5.9 WEI on a Intel Core 2 1.67 GHZ, 3 GIGS DDR2 Ram... Yea.

I dont have the uber Quad Core 10,000$ Killer Notebook...
Yea, no one does, since there are no 10k Killer Notebooks :ouch:

Killer Notebooks isn't the cheapest, but consistently the best in independent reviews. The price is cheaper than Alienware, FalconNorthwest and all our competition.

Just curious, http://www.killernotebooks.com/entrance_page.aspx looks like old crap. Did you stop updating your site? Did you go out of business? I just got the Asus G73 with Core I7 Q720 Quad Core, 6 Gigs DDR3, 500 Gig 7200 RPM SATA, 17.3 Inch Screen, ATI Radeon 5870, Backlit Keyboard and 64 Bit Win 7. Plays every game I have so far at 1080p maxed. In Win 7 the Graphics Rating is 7.2. Not bad... :) for $950...
