klh tr-82 radio power button problem

I have a vintage klh tr-82 table top radio with a problem. While plugged in and turned off the power button (and related red light) turns on & off by itself. Weird. If I turn it on by pressing the power button it works as expected. Has anyone ever encountered this? Or have a possible solution? Thanks.

If "82" denotes the year this radio was produced, I am not surprised it has started giving problems. Unless you want to pay a repair shop to fix it, a simplest / cheapest solution is to use power cord with a switch in it. Look at the "Christmas Lights" section at your local hardware shop for one.
