lacie hard disk not showing up on computer

My Lacie Hard Disk is not working anymore, while moving my laptop it got disconnected and my computer said it has an error and cannot be recognised. Now it won't be opened at all, through test disk the hard disk is seen, but it's not working.

I believe you can start with several simple steps. Just grab a spare USB cable and attach the drive with it to another computer.

In case the issue persists, you will need to provide some more information on whether the drive is recognized by Disk Management and how.

What happened when you used the partition/data recovery tool? What do you mean by not working?

Yes, I already tried this it with another USB-cable, also in another computer. The first time I tried the the hard disk was showing up, but afterwards not anymore. The disk is not recognized by Disk Management, no program seems to find it.

About the program test disk, I thought it found my hard disk, but that is another hard disk I use. Also this program doesn't seem to recognise it.

Unfortunately, in that case, you will need to contact a data recovery company, in case the data stored on the drive is really important. Most of the HDD manufacturers offer their own data recovery services or have some data recovery partners.
Your other option would be to just RMA the drive if it is still under warranty.
