Laptop AC charging pin gets heated up

I have Lenovo Ideapad I700. When I plug a charger in, the pin connecting to the laptop gets heated and the laptop shows not charging for a second or two and this keeps flickering. Sometimes the laptop shows not charging for a long time. However, when I use my friend's AC charger, it works fine with my laptop. Also, my charger works fine on his laptop though the heating problem still is there.

Sounds like you need a new charger.
