Hello !

I've just bought the Asus ROG G741JW-T7218T and i experience fps drops (going from steady 58~59 to ~40) in game such as battlefield 4, Black desert Online or dragon's dogma dark arisen

Here are my specs :
CPU: Intel Core i7-4750HQ, Quad Core 2 GHz
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 Go GRDDR5
RAM: 8 Go DRAM DDR3L-1600
WINDOWS 10

I got my games on the HDD : 1 To 7200 rpm and os on ssd 128 Go 2.5"
here is the gaphs that i have on msi afterburner while playing battlefield.

I noticed that when i get those frame rates drops the gpu usage on msi afterburner gets to 99% and the power limit goes from 0 to 1

Here you have the settings i changed in nvidia inspector (that was done on all games and it helped a lot in black desert online where i don't get as many frame drops as before)

Thanks in advance for your replies !

Hi,

Please do try doing a clean install of the graphics card driver that may help in solving the issue.
- First, do uninstall Nvidia graphics driver from Device Manager.
- Next is to uninstall anything related to Nvidia in Programs and Features.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot, do also set Nvidia as the default GPU.

Hi again !
first of all thx for the quick response!
Your soltion worked for about an hour or to, I left my computer on while I was away and when i came back i know experience the same exact problem.
I also found out that my gpu clock is doping from 500 to 400 while I have those fps drops. my page file also is at max (8000 or so)
