laptop battery charging

can anyone tell me if I can charge my laptop battery through one of the usb ports? I am able to charge my cell phone through one but can I charge the laptop through one?

No. The laptop battery needs to be charged through the charging cable. The circuit is not designed for charging the battery through a USB connection.
