laptop battery mod help

i got a powerbook 1400 where the battery is so dead as a lemon :)
now i checked the power out put of the old battery (yes it holds a charge but it doesnt deliver enough power) the voltage atm is 11 volts (there nimh cells 4 cells in one battery 2.5 volts each the battery is rated for 9.1 volts still it out puts 11) i want to "mod" it and wire up a cord less drill battery that is (atm) 12.56 volts can i wire just the drill battery on the terminals of the old battery (removing the broken cells) 1 thing i just want to power the laptop i dont want to charge the drill battery since i own a proper charger and the drill battery is ni cd and the laptop battery is a ni mh
the laptop battery is 3500 mah the
drill battery is 1200 mah
now i dont need 5 hours battery this is a temp mod until i get better cells/ more mah battery
can i do this?

Don't mean to burst your bubble but you're nuts.
Chances are you're going to either destroy the laptop or burn your house down.

Drill batteries are not designed with the same safeguards in place that laptop batteries have.

Honestly, just get a new battery.
