Solved! Laptop battery percentage suddenly not increasing + Unwarned shutdowns

I woke up yesterday with this problem. I have an Asus Vivobook x540N. The battery can't be removed easily, and I am not good at doing it manually. It used to work perfectly, So this got me scratching my head because it's sudden.

are you saying it does not charge now? was it dropped or was the chord tripped over or pulled out suddenly recently?

first thing i would try is to remove the battery (despite it being tough for you) and see if it runs just off the power cord. this will tell you if the port itself is bad or the battery has issues.

I don't remember anything about it being physically damaged or dropped.

did it still run with the battery removed and it plugged in? that's test #1 to see if it is the battery, charger or charging port.
