laptop charger overheating

so one day i was using my laptop and due to voltage fluctuations, a spark came out of the charger body. i immeduately turned it off and when i later turned jt on, it was working perfectly fine, but after some time of usage, it became very hot. i am also noticing that the laptop is now more hotter than normal... any explanations?
