Laptop charging problem

Hi everyone I currently have an MSI gt72 dominator that will only change when it's dead. It charges to full when it's dead, but when it's on it refuses to charge. What can I do??

Is there a battery status section in the bios? If so does it state "charging" when plugged in in the bios?

it recognizes the charger, but it won't charge unless it's off

This is a new laptop and is still under warranty. Please contact MSI Technical support. They will assist you with this problem.
