I bought a new laptop and I used it to encode videos. While it was encoding the heat was high enough to feel it when touching it. Now only 7 days later doesn't turn on. What did I do wrong? If it has broken, then what should I definitely know before encoding again (requirements etc.)? I have heard about more cooling, hardware acceleration but I don't know what to do exactly. Please help! Thank you in advance...

Intel i7@2.7GHz, 8GB RAM, AMD radeon M530 (separeted GPU).

Solution
A new laptop should not burn out even during full CPU use for a while. I use my laptop to encode video, sometimes overnight, with no issues. You can use a cooling pad, or make sure the laptop you get has good cooling, so larger model, nothing thin and light.
