Laptop doesn't power on

Laptop doesn't start up. Whenever I press the power button of my laptop the led lit up for a sec, the laptop makes a little noise as if it's going to start up but after a second or two , the lid goes off and the laptop doesn't start up. Can anyone help with this issue please? I've tried starting it up with and without the charger and also pressing the power button longer.

Have you tried pulling the battery out and plugging in the adapter cord to see if it will start then?

If it will, then you may well have a dead battery. Also you could have a bad charger cord. Sometimes when cords get damaged, they will run a device, but not power it at the same time. So when a dead battery is in the device, it won't start up with the charger.

You should also try charging it while it is turned off and see if it will charge. If yes, it is probably the cord. If no, then it is more likely the battery.
