Laptop doesn't work

So one day I turn on my laptop and it turns on but after a half a second of the ASUS logo at the start up the screen just goes straight to a black screen? What do I do?

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- First is to do a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If the laptop will still load into the black screen after the Windows logo, press CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and select Task Manager if it will open.
- If Task Manager will open click on File then New Task and type in explorer.exe then click OK.
- But if Task Manager will still not open try loading in Safe Mode.
- While the laptop is booting up, repeatedly press on F8 until it loads Advanced Boot Options then select Safe Mode.
- If Safe Mode will load just fine run System Restore. Bring it back to an earlier date or time when it was working properly.

- And lastly, if all these will not work last option would be to reinstall Windows.
