Laptop Drivers: Dell or up to date from OEM?

Solution
Best to install drivers only from the laptop maker's website (in your case that's Dell).

Laptop hardware is custom-made for the laptop manufacturer and therefore requires custom drivers for full hardware and driver compatibility.

Only the laptop maker has these custom drivers.

The only time you would use the device manufacturer's drivers on a laptop is if it's a model that's no longer supported so you have no other choice but to try drivers from other sources; or if laptop manufacturer doesn't support the OS that you want to use.
