Laptop factory settings

Hello,
I have just bought an E-system laptop off a freind, it has windows xp, but it seems clogged up and very slow. Is it possible for me to put it back to the factory settings? Any advice would be very greatfull.

You can through either the CD's that came with it or through the restore partition (if it has one) by hitting fn+f5 (or whatever it is for e-systems) when you first start up the computer.
