Laptop for Art and Design

I am looking for an ultrabook/ laptop for art and design work and probably rendering in the future. I don't want the price of it to exceed £1200 preferably but I could stretch a bit possibly. I have heard that Macbooks are good for this kind of work but when I have done some research it seems that some Windows laptops have better specs for the same price. What would you recommend? I would like to use the laptop possibly also for gaming but that is not that important as I have my computer for that.

Someone recommended the dell precision. Which laptop would you say is better for the price and spec wise. The p40/50 or the precision as you are a thinkpad expert. Would the P40 be similar or worse than my desktop if I would go with the I7

The p40 is the best, but the p50 would likely get more service life. By a year or so. The dell machines have issues with build quality and dell has bad support really bad support when you send them in for repairs the actual customer support is good.

Dells have a long history of faulty parts and shoddy repair parts. I would say you can get 3-5 years out of the p40 or p50, maybe 6 at the longest before its totally obselete.

I also quite like the ASUS UX501VW, it has a gtx 960. The advantage of it is that it is smaller than the thinkpad and lighter, and I really like the way it looks. Would that laptop be good for 3D modelling and rendering or would it get too warm and stuff.
