1. What is your budget?
- I can do $1500 range, but if it's really worth it, can push up towards $2000

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
- 15.6 or smaller.

3. What screen resolution do you want?
- 1080p preferred. A question though, if laptop is less than 1080p, is it capable of 1080p on an external monitor? Or is it the graphics card and laptop screen inevitably tied together?

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
- Both? Portable is at a higher priority. Desktop is 3-4 years old now, looking at a laptops specs nowadays, most non-budget ones seem to have superior specs anyways, so likely replaces desktop by default.

5. How much battery life do you need?
- The more the merrier

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
- Yes. Current desktop can still most of my games at high settings (Bioshock Infinite, Batman Arkhams, Spec Ops, Mass Effects, etc) hoping for something similar.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
- Nothing else intensive, just web browsing.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
- Not much. Don't plan to archive on it and will just uninstall games as I finish them. Was also hoping I can take the SSD from my desktop.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
- Prefer places with local stores nearby (Vancouver BC), like:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/
http://www.futureshop.ca/
http://www.staples.ca/
http://www.londondrugs.com/
http://ncix.ca/
http://www.memoryexpress.com/

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
- As long as possible

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
- None needed

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
- No preferences.

13. What country do you live in?
- Canada

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
- Job will be occasionally sending me on trips, so would like something portable to take with me and provide some gaming.

Maybe I could ask a few smaller questions and be pointed in the right direction.

Since I do want to game, should I be looking at those Richland A10s? Or Haswell i5 / i7, with dedicated graphics? I take it I shouldn't bother with 3rd gen nor Trinity any more?
