Needing to purchase a laptop for university. Primary use is non gaming. Likely will use for doing research and typing papers, email, social media, maybe watch some videos. Feeling overwhelmed by all the choices out there.

Hoping to find something for around $500. We are in Canada, if that matters. Not keen on buying a lot of features she won't use.

This seems reasonable, and the touch screen is good. I have an A8 on my laptop and it runs cool and has a long battery life.
