I already have a great gaming desktop (thanks to all the help I got from people on this site!) As the title says, I just need a laptop for work (mostly CAD programs) and for some light gaming (league of legends, csgo maybe) mainly for when I'm away from home. Below 700$ Would be ideal, but maybe that's asking too much?

I was considering this one, buy maybe it's overkill? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015PYYDMQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480368816&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=dell+inspiron+15+7000&dpPl=1&dpID=41BrD2bCAeL&ref=plSrch

Lastly, I have a little time to spare, so maybe I should wait till Christmas or something?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

If the CAD programs you use gets a performance boost from a dedicated GPU like the GTX 960m, then I would say it is worth considering. The two laptops edit1754 provided links to have dual core i5-7200u (ThinkPad) or i5-6200u (Dell) CPUs. They are more than enough for the average person, but I assume CAD programs are pretty CPU intensive and the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 has a quad core i5-6300HQ CPU.

A less expensive alternative could be the Lenovo Ideapad 700-15ISK which has the same quad core i5-6300HQ CPU, but it has the less powerful GTX 950m GPU for $620. From a gaming perspective, you are better off spending the extra $80 to get the more powerful GTX 960m. However, the game you plan on playing are not very graphically demanding...

That actually is a pretty good laptop for the price. For below 700$ the best laptop's you'll find are similar with similar specs so get that one.

It's just about the go-to option at $700 for game performance. NVIDIA GTX 960M, and also a nice 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS display.

If you do go the route others have suggested and get something with no GPU, I'd make sure to stick with the same great type of display, and get one of these:

When it comes to CAD performance both laptops have the same CPU so performance should be similar unless the dedicated GPU increases performance.
