Laptop HDD Error Question

Greetings, everyone.

I recently purchased a Acer Aspire Nitro 5 AN515-51-50PN (here's the URL: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834316155) over the holidays and last week I just started getting into when I realized the HDD arrived with errors.

Windows is not recognizing it as a drive letter. Under Disk Management, it's known as Disk 1 and is not initialized. When I try to initialize it, I either get the message "Disk Not Ready" or "Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check". The option to partition it is not available under Disk Management. I would like to avoid an return, so I wanted to see if anyone here can assist me in figuring this out.

Thanks for the read.

If it is giving you that kind of problem and is that new, then contact the seller about an exchange, or if it is they won't assist, then contact the manufacturer. No new device should give this kind of trouble.

Well, I am going to put in an RMA, but before I do that, I wanted to know if there was anything on my end I can do or if it's just a detective hardware. I am not familiar this sort of issue and a lot of the solutions I've read on the web doesn't seem to pertain to this particular problem.

"Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check" generally indicates a physical fault on the drive.
Nothing you can do with it at the consumer level.
