Laptop is freezing!

Different programs just freeze. I cannot even use the ctrl+alt+delete combination to open task manager or shut down the computer , I can only move my cursor. I have to turn my computer off by pressing the power button. Please help

Try booting into safe mode.

Here are the likely causes for complete freeze up like that:
To many items eating up cpu and memory (often due to virus or poor maintenance)
Hard Drive almost completely full
Bad drivers
Corrupted Windows
Hardware about to fail
