Laptop keyboard and mouse won\'t work

the light above my mouse on my keyboard works but is difficult to move. Takes me many minutes to move from one side of computer screen. Is there a way to reactivate this mouse

Is the keyboard not working also? Your title and actual post are different. If the mouse and keyboard do not work, you need to replace them, or at least re-seat the connections and make sure you clean out anything in the keyboard keys.

If the mouse moves but is slow, go into the mouse applet in Control Panel and chance the cursor movement in there to something faster.
