Laptop Keyboard Not Working (HP G60)

I was fixing my mom's laptop's screen, which required taking out the keyboard. However the keyboard is attached by ribbon cable. I simply slid the ribbon cable back into place upon closing up the laptop again, but the keyboard no longer works. It seems to be positioned perfectly in the laptop, so I'm almost positive it has to do with the ribbon cable having been ripped out. How can I fix this?

If the cable is damaged, you need to replace the keyboard. Make sure it's (the cable) properly seated though; it can be deceiving. 😉 Also, make sure the little retainer clip has it fastened in place.
