Laptop keyboard not working

Hi, this morning i was using my laptop with no problem. Then i closed my laptop screen and it went to sleep but when i opened it again by flipping the laptop open my keyboard stopped working.
I tried a few things to fix the problem but they didn't work.
I've tried:
- Taking the battery out for a few mins and putting it back in
- Changing my power options to not turn off usb slots to save power
- Searched my computer for viruses
However some of my FN keys work, like change the screen brightness and turn on airplane mode but some FN keys like changing the volume do not. Device manager says that my keyboard is working properly.

I do not have my admin password however.

I have a HP probook 820
Have Windows 7
Using touch screen to type this
My trackpad works

Hello... can you plug in an USB keyboard try that for me?

Probooks are knowed for having a very fiddly cable that goes from the keyboard to the laptop, it can be easily fixed by popping out the keyboard and just pushing the connector in. I would check that before buying a new keyboard ect.
