Laptop needed for media course

hey,
what laptop would you suggest that's good for editing a lot of videos and photos and rendering them. As well as run microsoft and adobe. I also want something that won't overheat.
someone has suggested to me the Lenovo Ideapad 510 but I still want to look around and get the best one I can get. Or if you could let me know what kind of Specs I should be looking for in laptops that're good for what I need.

What is your budget? For video editing for a "good" one you will be over $1,000. Ideapad is fine for a general use system, not for editing video. You want a system with a real quad core CPU and a better case. Any of the workstation class laptops are good, Lenovo P series, HP Z Book, Dell Precision, the gaming laptops with HQ model CPUs.

Laptops labeled 'gaming laptop' is what you are looking for.
hang-the-9 is most likely referring to avoiding 'U' or 'Y' labeled CPU's (low voltage or ultra low voltage). These CPU's sacrifice processing power for lower wattage.
