Laptop not outputting to TV via HDMI

Hello,

I have been merrily connecting my Dell XPS13 L321x laptop to my Panasonic TX-P42ST30B Television via the mini display port/adapter to HDMI for a few years.
All of a sudden I cannot connect to the tv.

When I ask windows to duplicate or extend, nothing happens.

When I tell it to connect to the projector only, the laptop monitor goes dark, and after a few second, comes back. There are error boxes which appear, but they disappear automatically too fast for me to read them.

In the control window for the display/resolution settings, the display drop down lists:
1.Mobile PC Display
2.Display device on: VGA

I have tried a number of things to no avail:

*I have disabled the driver for the Intel Graphics HD 3000 and re-enabled

*I have updated the driver for the Intel Graphics HD 3000

*I have rolled back the driver for the Intel Graphics HD 3000

*I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for Intel Graphics HD 3000

*I have connected my laptop to a different monitor using the same mini display port adaptor to HDMI cable and picture appeared fine

*I have connected an alternate source to the same HDMI cable and input on the tv (PS3) and it works fine

*I have cycled through of of the display options/aspect ratios on the television

Any help greatly appreciated!

Resolved! Turned out to be an iffy HDMI port on the television.
Expensive repair fears ensue.
