Laptop not recognizing microphone on splitter.

Hello,

I have a Blue Snowball Ice. It seems to be working on my old laptop just fine. However, I do have a current laptop which had the usb port with a blown up fuse. It works fine without it, and I don't have the money to have it fixed.

Now I am planning to use the mic on the current laptop using an audio splitter. The mic is turned on, but Windows 8.1 does not recognize it as a mic, but as audio. How do I fix this issue?

exactly how are you using a usb mic with an analog audio splitter ?
The Snowball and the Snowball ice are both USB mics, not 3.5mm, so I'm confused on what you really have.
