Laptop Not Turning On

Hi guys. My laptop is not turning on. Whenever I press the power button, the power light will turn on but the laptop is not running, the fan and hard drive is not running as well. I hold the power button for 30 seconds as they said but the method won't work. Any ideas what might be the problem and please let me know how to fix it?Thanks in advance.

Remove the ac adapter as well as the battery. Hold the power button for 30 seconds. Replace the battery as well as the ac adapter and try again.
