Hey

I have an Acer Aspire 3830TG-6634 that only uses the Intel HD Graphics although it comes with a Nvidia GeForce GT 540M. Can't figure out how to get the laptop running on the dedicated GPU rather than the HD graphics. I also have read some articles, the power setting is on max performance, not sure how to get into the BIOS and there are no external buttons to turn on the GPU.

All help and comments will be much appreciated!

Regards

How are you checking which GPU is being used?
The Intel HD should be used for 2D apps and should switch to 540 when runing a 3D app.
For My laptop (i5-2410M w/540M dGPU) if I on Furmark it shows that it is running on the 540, not the HD3000.

Hey
I am just checking via CCleaner, it doesn't even show that my laptop has a GPU. As well, I can't seem to run some of my games and other games on lower then expected FPS. How are you checking if your 540 or your HD3000 is running?

Great!! Thank you very much for your help. It shows that it is indeed using my Nvidia although the FPS is a bit low for some reason.
