laptop screen craked

hello, i have a HP Pavilion 15-n287cl touchscreen laptop and the screen cracked the other day. i have been looking for a replacement screen but have had no luck. one of the problems i have is that i dont know if the touchscreen is cracked or if the screen itself is cracked. any help would be appreciated here is a link to the laptop.

In most cases like this it is the digitizer that cracks and not the screen itself. HP makes no mention of replacing the digitizer and instead refers to replacing the entire screen - page 49 here (direct pdf link) http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04438537.pdf

so i would have to replace both or us there no way to replace it.

You can replace the screen but apparently the trick is to find one, it also seems they make both touch screen and non-touch screen displays for that model

so i can find a non touchscreen glass instead of getting the expensive touchscreen?

that sucks because the touchscreen is broken so it sucks that they dont have a part number.

That would be what I would look to replace, it seems to be the right part. You'll likely need a heatgun to help remove the digitizer from the current display but on some models careful removal of tape is all that's needed to separate them
